No Victim 02:43
come inside and hide, let's pull down the shade there's no place to hide, there's only time to fade just a year ago, the streets were out in force it's sad to say it now, but nature's run its course. there's a stranger in the house and he's speaking golden only men inside and they're looking olden they don't feel the shame that their fathers taught them or maybe it was because the heart was never there. a million hits a day can recreate the truth another one today, and i've been hit by you whatever happened to the streets that take us home? this ticker tape parade has left us all alone. there's a stranger in the house and he's speaking golden only men inside and they're looking olden they don't feel the shame that their mothers taught them but i won't be a victim. so you don't be a victim

it's always been a southern grace a dirty mark on southern face at least that's how the whole world makes it seem. a quiet feeling that gets loud as anger infiltrates the crowd but now it's larger than it ever seemed. what started as a shameful thought or something that our country fought has infiltrated you and made you scream. protect the homeland, you will say is why this new idea's okay but i don't see how you can be redeemed. a colder wind is blowing through it tears down and builds walls up too and now the storms have grown across the land. as people rise to show true face, they seem to join that southern grace it's clear that there is dirt on everyone's hands. so it's not just us anymore cause anger's knocked on your front door and everyone is making sense of hate. so grab your torch and carry proud the dirty hatred you've allowed but don't expect someone like me to relate. this isn't southern grace.

Not Over It 04:17
every once in a while you hear a plan fake mistakes and whistles in your hand baring bonds of something we both like sharing until one day you will find we're not over it we're not over it we both had a lot right thinking about it now but we're not over it a fantasy or maybe it's just a line bandages and bloody grow in time faster now, you're ripping out your spots should we take it back, what's been bought? we're not over it we're not over it we both had a lot right thinking about it now but we're not over it the smoky breeze, the smoky trees green and brown around us make it all surround us once in a while you hear a plan one mistake means nothing to the man we're not over it we're not over it we both had a lot right thinking about it now but we're not over it not over anyhow

it was a long, angry winter and still the weather remains people just aren't the same. when did it start? was it last year? or was the cold always here? seems the sky never clears so when you go, and you blow away you're the draw of the day. but if you knew that you pushed us away, could you ever be wrong? say what you want, and mean it saw what you think, within reason know what it means when you demand a person's time say what you want, and mean it saw what you think, within reason know what it means when you demand a person's mind you probably won't, and i don't mind but you say you wanna be nice so why am i thinking twice? it's everything, or it's nothing can't find a middle ground that voice is always around. so when you go, and you blow away you're the draw of the day. but if you knew that you pushed us away, could you ever be wrong? say what you want, and mean it saw what you think, within reason know what it means when you demand a person's time say what you want, and mean it saw what you think, within reason know what it means when you demand a person's mind

we've gone along for many years now sometimes it's been a mess but we're the ones that started gardens we're the ones that watched them harden. leave it to the builders that created what we see they're the ones that make it all run they're the ones who deserve someone. what started as a peaceful land was filled with hearts and minds. power to the people made it better all the time. down the line we appreciated that you congratulate down the line now your time's elapsing while everything's collapsing round us maybe everything we started carries on through us we're the ones that learned how to drive we're the ones that managed to survive and we're still alive down the line we appreciated that you congratulate down the line now your time's elapsing while everything's collapsing round us

Get Free 05:39
it's time to get free it's time to rattle some locks we broke our history when we broke up the blocks you've got your reasons for making sense of your walls i call it treason oh, but you wouldn't want to know about that, would you? i don't wanna be the one to call all the shots (i can see you i can see you) but you don't wanna be around when it gets hot (i can hear you i still hear you) the last time you said that we were free was back when you would not stand with me i don't wanna be the one to call all the shots it's time to get free you see the lines on my face are they still friendly? or do they seem out of place? let's get together we'll build a neighbor's fire and share some histories. oh, but you wouldn't want to know about that, would you? i don't wanna be the one to call all the shots (i can see you i can see you) but you don't wanna be around when it gets hot (i can hear you i still hear you) the last time you said that we were free was back when you would not stand with me i don't wanna be the one to call all the shots don't you know, the world is turning away? and it shows that we are burning the day there's a chance that everything will come down can't believe it's gotten to us now i don't wanna be the one to call all the shots (i can see you i can see you) but you don't wanna be around when it gets hot (i can hear you i still hear you) the last time you said that we were free was back when you would not stand with me i don't wanna be the one to call all the shots - the shots - the shots... i can hear the shots

about

The songs on this EP were written and recorded over the last (very interesting) year. Much thanks are owed to Andy Grogan for ideas and motivation, as well as John Watkins. You'll hear Andy's guitar and John's keys throughout the songs. It's free, so if you like it, I'm glad.
